Price

Bands usually cost much more than a DJ. Even smaller bands can be as much as twice as much. Bands have to pay each member of the group, usually from 3 to as much at 10 members. Most DJ's have only themselves to pay. At most you might have two DJ's for a special event. Simple math, pay for 1 or 2 or 3-10.

Variety

Bands are limited in the number of songs they can play simply by the number they know. DJ's play the original music as recorded by the original artists the way people remember and enjoy the songs. There are thousands of selections in their libraries and by the orignail artists.

Versatility

Because DJ's carry large libraries of recorded music they can easily meet the requirements of various events from weddings to private parties. Bands limit themselves to the particular genre of music they are most comfortable with. For this reason most bands won't take requests. They can't play a request if they don't know it. The DJ's large library gives him/her the variety that is needed to provide all kinds of music and glady accept requests.

Handling events

Bands do not offer any assistance in handling events. Professional DJ's will provide their talents as the Master of Ceremonies and the wireless microphones needed. They will work with their customers in any way they can to help make your party a complete success.

Breaks

All bands take periodic breaks usually every hour for an average of 15 minutes. The music never stops with DJ's. Once the music starts it's non-stop till the end of the party.
